Therefore, it is important to stay hydrated with water and other fluids as well.

This would help to replace whatever fluid you lose from sweating and keep you vibrant and energetic.

Also, fresh fruit juices are a healthy and delicious alternative to water. While doing these, ensure to reduce the amount of alcohol you consume during this period.

2. Use sunscreen

Direct exposure to the scorching sun can cause several skin problems. You can use various sunscreens or sunblocks to protect your skin, particularly while tanning.

It is best to use lotions that contain SPF 30 or more. You should visit the doctor if you are not sure of what product to use, especially if you have sensitive skin.

You can also wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun rays. Hats and umbrellas are useful to keep the sun out as well.

3. Watch your spice

The insides of your body can get very hot like the outside. This can happen when you take really spicy foods.

Since we are trying to battle the heat, taking such foods seems counter-productive.

So it is best to reduce the amount of spice you eat during this period. This includes peppers, ginger, garlic, paprika, etc.

Foods that would be healthier to eat are grains, fruits and vegetables, and nuts. You should also reduce the amount of fatty foods you eat.

4. Stay moving

Although the heat may discourage you from being physically active, it is best to engage in some sort of exercise. Swimming, cycling, or walks during the cool evenings can help you stay happy and fit. Exercise would also make you feel less grumpy from the heat and help you sleep better.

5. Rest

The importance of sleep cannot be overemphasized.

Also, we tend to feel more tired during the summer, and not getting enough sleep can cause some problems. This includes decreased concentration and increased hunger.

So, endeavor to sleep for six to eight hours daily for your body to function properly.
