Seated Twist

This yoga posture for digestion has a twisting motion that can promote bowel regularity. You have to sit on the floor with your legs straight. Now, you have to bend your left knee and cross it over to the right knee or thigh. The left foot must be planted throughout the movement. Then, place the right elbow outside the left knee. Now, turn your neck and look over your left shoulder. 

Knees To Chest

The Knees to chest yoga or Apanasana is a gentle and relaxing movement that can relieve one’s lower back pain. Yoga practitioners say that this movement massages the large intestine and thereby promotes bowel movements. All one has to do is lie back straight and slowly bend the knees and bring them to the chest. They should hold this position for at least 4 to 5 breaths.

Shavasana Or Corpse Pose

Usually performed at the end of one session, this yoga posture for digestion gives complete relaxation via controlled breathing. As the performer, one has to lie back with the legs straight and arms on to the side. Then, they have to close their eyes and take a deep breath while counting to four. Similarly, while exhaling, they have to count to four as well.  

The Bow Pose

Mimicking the shape of an archer’s bow, the bow pose stretches one’s back and also aids problems related to digestion and constipation. You have to lie on your stomach and bend your knees to bring your feet close to you. Then, grab your ankles and pull your feet towards your body and slightly lift the thighs. All you have to ensure is to hold this position for 4 to 5 breaths.
